The Electronics program prepares students for entry level
employment in the electronics industry and/or post-secondary
education. The curriculum offers a broad spectrum of electronics
beginning at basic understanding of electronics and advancing
into basic instrumentation, surface mount technology, analog
and digital circuitry, electronic communications systems,
networking, and computer maintenance.
Students apply their skills in modern electronics laboratories
equipped with dual trace oscilloscopes, variable output power
supplies, audio and radio frequency generators, frequency
counters, and variable heat soldering stations, Sophomores
and juniors may take examinations for course credit in post
secondary schools, such as CCRI and New England Tech.
In the senior year, students learn computer maintenance and
repair as they work toward A+ computer repair certification.
Training for Cisco Networking Computer Technician is also
offered, leading to certification after completion of the
Cisco training at CCRI. A new feature of the program will
be the option to learn automotive electronics.
