Graphic Arts/Printing is one of the fastest growing, technologically advanced fields in the communications industry today. Davies Graphics Arts/Printing program provides students with the skills necessary to gain entry level positions in a variety of commercial printing areas, and/or post-secondary education. Davies was the first high school in Rhode Island to receive national accreditation from PrintED of America.
Students explore the multiple paths that comprise the industry. The product diversity of the printing industry is so enormous that it is referred to as the printing, publishing and packaging industry. Priniting is America's most geographically dispersed manufacturing industry and is a major force in the economy in every state. It has over 40,000 establishments and employs over 1 million people in the United States.
Printing is a strong industry. Nearly every year more products are manufactured than the previous year. As a result, present and future employment opportunities are excellent.
