  • A message from the Director 1/4/2021

The Department of Education released a unified school calendar on December 14, 2020. The calendar takes into consideration the new RIDOH guidelines for quarantine and isolation. The emphasis is to balance educational outcomes and public health considerations to enable the best long-term outcomes for school communities in 2021. This is in line with our goal to provide valuable in-person instruction for our students while continuing to adhere to all safety guidelines. We are also continuing to stress full-time in-person instruction for prioritized students. In light of this, Davies will return to operating under our Partial (50%) operating scenario that follows our established hybrid schedule. This will begin on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

  • A message from the Director: 12/10/2020

After careful consideration and in alignment with the Governor’s continuation of the statewide “pause,” Davies will continue to operate under our limited (25%) operating scenario following our established hybrid schedule through December 23, 2020. Our goal is to return to more inperson instruction after the holidays and we urge all members of the Davies community to abide by RIDOH guidelines to increase the likelihood that we are able to do so. Davies will revisit this decision during holiday break to determine the appropriate operating scenario to begin on January 4, 2020. We continue to follow the ever-changing public health situation and to make our decisions through collaboration with RIDOH and RIDE. We remain committed to responding to public health data should it require us to adjust our operating scheduled at any point.

  • A Memo from the Director 11/13/2020

On August 31, Governor Raimondo announced that all school districts in Rhode Island had the “green light” to reopen for full in-person learning on September 14, with the exception of Providence and Central Falls. However, Davies decided to start the school year under a partial (50%) reopening scenario in response to community desires and the public health situation in our primary sending districts. Davies committed to periodically reevaluating our operating scenario and to do so specifically on November 13th to determine if changes were appropriate. After careful consideration, Davies will continue to operate under our partial (50%) operating scenario and will continue to follow our established hybrid schedule.
