First EMT Training Class Results
William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School is proud to announce that all fifteen students enrolled in the inaugural EMT training class have successfully completed their training. The EMT program started in the beginning of the school year as a pathway in the Health Careers program. Davies was able to offer the rigorous course to motivated students with the help of the American Safety Programs & Training Inc. The partnership allowed ASP&T to send skilled instructors to the school to lead the course and cover skills in basic life support, trauma emergencies, medication administration, vehicle extraction and a new section on terrorism awareness as it pertains to EMS.
Of the students who completed the certification and are eligible (over 18 years old) 6 are interested in pursuing the national exam at this time. Students were presented with certificates via email.
