Job Title: Class I Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Chief Engineer
Position Summary:
Perform all essential functions of Class II Engineer plus special skills in a particular
trade: HVAC&R as an efficient troubleshooter, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, safe,
clean and accident free manner.
Essential Functions:
Attendance as scheduled is required.
Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as HVAC&R,
plumbing and carpentry
Ensure guest satisfaction on each request and follow through to its completion in
a courteous, efficient, and safe manner
Perform all essential functions of a Class II Engineer
Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas
Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased
Report any unsafe condition to the Chief Engineer
Experience:
High School diploma, plus two years or its equivalent in trade school HVAC&R
Minimum four year experience in trouble shooting of HVAC&R, plumbing,
electrical and carpentry
State Licenses – To maintain HVAC&R as apprenticeship licenses or higher and
certifications
Skills:
Must have basic knowledge or building mechanical systems and controls, energy
management and building maintenance skills
Must be able to perform all basic functions of a Class II Engineer
Physical Job Requirements:
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required to inspect and repair
Frequent bending and kneeling required to inspect and repair
100% mobility required to quickly reach all areas of hotel in emergency situations
Frequent standing and climbing of stairs and ladders
Frequent need to drive company truck to get equipment and supplies
