Students in a kitchen classroom proudly display chocolate-covered strawberries they have made.Last week, our students traded their notebooks for aprons to dive into the delicious science of chocolate-covered strawberries. This wasn't just a snack break—it was a hands-on lesson in culinary technique and chemistry.

What They Learned:

  • Students explored the concept of "melting point" and witnessed a "phase change" firsthand as solid chocolate was transformed into a smooth glaze.
  • Before hitting the stations, everyone had to demonstrate proper kitchen safety, including verifying they had the appropriate kitchen shoes for a professional environment.
  • From prepping the berries to the final dip, students mastered the essential procedures to create a bakery-quality treat.
It’s amazing to see these future hospitality pros developing their skills (and enjoying the results!).
