Student Achievement: Isaac Puglia Named NYS Rodeo Champion
Davies is incredibly proud to share the outstanding external accomplishments of one of our own. Outside of his technical studies, 18-year-old Smithfield resident Isaac Puglia has achieved the highest honors in regional rodeo competition. At the New York High School Rodeo Association award ceremony held on May 17th, Isaac was recognized for his exceptional performance throughout the season. The road to the title demanded perseverance. Competing a total of eight times on the horses over the course of the season, Isaac faced formidable challenges and several buck-offs. However, demonstrating true determination, he successfully rode both his second and his final horses. This critical performance secured the necessary points to lock in two major titles: Isaac is a member of the Class of 2026 Electrical & Renewable Energy Program. Following his upcoming graduation on June 9th, he plans to balance multiple professional endeavors. He will begin working with a local roofing company while simultaneously training horses. His long-term career goals also extend into professional sports. Having already completed his Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) qualifications, Isaac is well-positioned to compete at the highest professional level in the coming years.
