We have extraordinary news to celebrate across our Davies community!
Please join us in congratulating Kaylyn Woods (Biomanufacturing Technology, Class of 2026) on being selected as a 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholar!
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is one of the highest honors a high school senior can achieve. Out of millions of high school seniors across the country, only 161 students nationwide are selected each year for their outstanding academic achievement, artistic and technical excellence, leadership, and service to their school and community.Even more remarkable: only three students were selected from the entire state of Rhode Island—two from Barrington High School and Kaylyn representing Davies Career & Technical High School!
Kaylyn received official notification and congratulations directly from the U.S. Department of Education:
"Presidential Scholars are celebrated for their exceptional achievements, unwavering perseverance, and commitment to community and service. You are an inspiration to your peers, families, schools, and communities throughout America... Through your dedication and hard work, you are setting a standard of excellence and providing inspiration to millions of high school students who will follow in your footsteps."Kaylyn’s passion, perseverance, and drive in our Biomanufacturing Technology program embody the very best of career and technical education. She represents what is possible when hard work meets opportunity, and we could not be prouder to see her recognized on the national stage.
Adding to her achievements, Kaylyn was voted in as one of four Colby College Class of 2030 senators, giving her peers a strong, direct voice in student government.
